Children’s Day Camp Specialist
Berkeley Carroll is a Pre-K through grade 12 college-preparatory school of close to 1,000 students located in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn in New York City. Our vibrant intellectual community draws students from all over the city. Admission to the school is competitive, and both our parents and students value achievement.
The Berkeley Carroll School is seeking a specialist for its Children’s Day Camp in the summer of 2025. Specialists plan and execute daily lessons, in the subject area of their choice, for children between the ages of three (3) and ten (10). Examples of past classes have included Arts and Crafts, Music, and Movement.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare subject area instruction during summer program
- Implement 30-minute classes and lessons for children
- Report any incidents or accidents to appropriate program personnel
- Communicate with parents, as needed
- Maintain awareness of participant allergies, medications and emergency contact information
- Perform other camp duties, as assigned
Dates & Hours
June 24-August 7 2026
Flexible within the Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 3:00 pm timeframe (to be set before the summer)
Specialists must be available for a mandatory orientation the week of June 20th.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Extensive experience studying or working in subject area
- Extensive experience teaching in after school or enrichment programs
