Children’s Day Camp Counselor-in-Training
Berkeley Carroll is a Pre-K through grade 12 college-preparatory school of 1,000 students located in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn in New York City. The Berkeley Carroll School is seeking a full-time Counselor-In-Training (CIT) for its children’s summer camp for the summer of 2026. Reporting directly to head counselors, faculty and program administrators, CITs oversee the safety and well-being of a group of 20 campers for the duration of the camp. They help plan and implement age-appropriate recreational and educational activities for campers on a daily basis.
Dates & Hours
June 24 - August 7, 2026
Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 4:00m pm
Must be available to work at least two consecutive sessions of camp
Responsibilities:
- Aid in the supervision of summer program participants
- Assist the counselors and teachers in daily administration of the summer programs, including but not limited to the following: ensuring the well-being and safety of all participants, administering games and activities, assisting with courses, maintaining a fun and safe environment for the participants, keeping facilities clean and assisting with signing participants in and out each day.
- Other camp duties, as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Must be a rising 10th or 11th grader in high school
- An interest in working with children
- The ability to be a cooperative member of a team
- The desire to learn and improve on leadership and communication skills
- Flexibility and openness to trying new activities and programs

This is a seasonal position with a salary of $315/week for incoming CIT’s and $355/week for returning CITs,
