Creative Arts Program

Welcome to the Creative Arts Program at Berkeley Carroll! In this unique summer camp for students ages 8-14, young art enthusiasts create their own schedule by choosing from over 50 courses, including Costume Design, Rock Band, Ceramics, Photography, Improvisation and Hip Hop Dance, plus a wide variety of sports. CAP also has an extensive digital arts department where students can delve into 3D printing, learn to make music using only an iPad, or build a robot! Students take five courses throughout their time at CAP and each course meets for one hour per day, five days a week.

Participants first must register for the program, and then select their courses in the spring, typically in May or early June. Course registration takes place on a first-come, first-served basis, although our team makes every effort to ensure every participant is happy with his/her CAP schedule.

In addition to their five daily courses, students attend a Noontime Performance each day. These whole-group gatherings allow students an opportunity to share their talents with their peers, and to enjoy the talents of the CAP faculty and staff.

The CAP faculty is comprised of Berkeley Carroll teachers, instructors from other schools in New York City, working artists, aquatics and athletics professionals, and energetic high school and college students, who serve as counselors in training. We are proud of our experienced, committed and diverse team, and are pleased to have the vast majority of our staff return summer after summer.

The Creative Arts Programs is a 5-week program with a 3-week option; students have an option of attending the full five weeks or the first three weeks of the program.
