The Junior Camp is an enriched early childhood program for the day camp's youngest participants. Depending on enrollment, there generally are three divisions within the Junior Camp: those for whom day camp is a first group experience, children who have completed a year of pre-kindergarten, and children moving up to kindergarten. Every group has a head counselor, an assistant counselor, and two junior counselors.
Junior Campers participate in age-appropriate learning activities that emphasize creativity and social skills. Nurturing by affectionate and attentive staff gives each child a strong start toward building self-confidence. Specialist teachers in art, music, and physical education/swimming give the children an enriched camp experience. Our young campers also participate in field trips and special events every Wednesday morning.
Parents may register their children by the week or for the entire seven-week session. Kindergarten children may also participate in a combination of the classic day camp and specialty camps.
