Baby and Me

Age: 6 to 24 months

Introduction to the water for baby and caregivers. This class focuses on comfort and water adjustment. Babies will explore floating, kicking, bubble blowing and participate in group activities. Swim diapers required.

Toddler & Me

Age: 2 to 3 years

This is for the child’s first exposure to the water and for children who need their parents in order to feel secure. All preschoolers must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Games, songs, and water play give the child a positive water experience.

Level 1 Children's Prebeginner Swim 

Age: 3-5 years

This class encourages comfort in the water, putting face in the water, blowing bubbles, and swimming to the wall from a held position or platform. The session includes active water games and exercises that are pre-skills to swimming. The child should be independent and able to separate from the caregiver. There will be up to four sections, with a limit of four children per instructor.

Level 2 Children's Beginner Swim (ARC Levels 1, 2)

Age: 4-6

Beginners learn the basics of swimming and water safety, while building confidence and having fun in the water. Skills taught include breath control, kicking, bobbing, arm movements, and floating. Pool safety and positive group behaviors are emphasized. There will be up to four sections with a limit of five children per instructor.

Level 3 Children's Advanced Beginner Swim (ARC Level 3)

Age: 5-8 years

Students learn to coordinate arm and leg movements, swimming independently. Skills taught include streamline kicking, breath control, free style, elementary backstroke, dolphin kick, and basic sculling techniques.

Level 4 Children’s Intermediate Swim (ARC Level 4)

Swimmers will learn front and back crawl, rhythmic breathing, butterfly, sidestroke, breaststroke, and essential skills. Emphasis is on deep-water confidence, survival floating, treading water, surface diving, and diving from the side.

Swim Club

Ages: 8 and older, must be able to swim laps

This class will focus on building swimmers endurance and refining technique for all swimming strokes and turns. Students will also learn how to use starting blocks for competitive swimming.

Children's Competitive Swim

Age: Ages 8 to 16

For boys and girls already on a swim team or for those who would like to train for one. The focus is on endurance, speed, stroke refinement, flip turns, and racing starts. The clinic is for the already proficient swimmer who is able to swim two lengths of the pool.

Adult Beginner Swim

Adult Swim Training

Ages: 18 and older

Learn training techniques to burn fat, increase strength and build speed. Classes will begin with an emphasis on improving stroke techniques and becoming more streamlined. We will progress to drills and conclude with a vigorous workout. Adults should be comfortable in the water and know the basic strokes. This is a good opportunity for fitness swimmers who want to get more out of their workout or for those who wish to improve their technique for competition. Please come at 8:30pm to do the posted warm-up on your own -- class will begin when the first swimmer has completed the warm-up.

Offered - Spring 2026

Adult Intermediate Swim

Ages: 18 and older

Stroke refinement for front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke. Students will be introduced to butterfly and flip turns. Primary focus will be the mechanics of each stroke and increasing conditioning, with emphasis on building endurance. Students will be introduced to the competitive aspects of swimming and learn how to follow a written workout.

Master Swim Class

Work with Berkeley Carroll's Varsity swim coach to develop your technique, strength, and endurance.  Each one hour session will include a warm-up, main drill set, and cool down.
