MS Mathletes Make it Count in Regional and National Competitions

The Berkeley Carroll Middle School Math Team recently showcased their problem-solving skills in two major competitions: the AMC 8 and the Mathcounts Brooklyn Chapter Competition.

The AMC8 is a respected national mathematics contest that challenges students with creative and rigorous problem-solving questions designed to stretch their analytical thinking. This year, Theo C. ’30 earned the distinction of highest scorer for Berkeley Carroll on the AMC8, demonstrating exceptional mathematical reasoning and perseverance.

The team also competed in the Brooklyn Chapter of Mathcounts, part of the nationwide Mathcounts competition series. The event emphasizes critical thinking, collaboration, and strategic problem-solving across multiple rounds. Iris K. ’30 delivered an outstanding performance, placing first overall and advancing to the highly competitive “Countdown” round.

We are incredibly proud of our Middle School mathletes for their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to tackling complex challenges. Their hard work and enthusiasm for mathematics continue to inspire our community.
