Checkmate! BC Students Face Off in School Chess Tournament

On Sunday, March 15, Berkeley Carroll students gathered for a school-wide chess tournament that brought together players from grades 5 through 12 for a day of competition and strategy.

Ten students competed in a point-based format across four rounds. With strong performances across the board, the competition remained tight, ultimately requiring an additional fifth round to break a tie for second place.

After an exciting final matchup, the tournament concluded with the following top finishers:

  • 1st Place: Jayden N. ’26
  • 2nd Place: Avi T. ’33
  • 3rd Place: Isidore M. ’31

Congratulations to the winners and to all of the players for their focus, perseverance, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
