Berkeley Carroll Students Earn Top Honors in Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

Berkeley Carroll is proud to celebrate the outstanding creative achievements of our students who were recognized in this year’s New York City Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Altogether, Berkeley Carroll students earned 79 awards, including 17 Gold Keys, 20 Silver Keys, and 42 Honorable Mentions across both art and writing categories.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in the United States and Canada. Open to students in grades 7–12, the awards honor exceptional originality, technical skill, and personal expression, while also providing opportunities for exhibition, publication, and scholarships.

Students who earned Regional Awards will be celebrated at the NYC Regional Art Awards Ceremony in March. In addition, all Gold Key–winning works will be exhibited in the annual New York City Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. NYC Gold Key recipients also advance to the national level, where their work will compete with students from across the U.S. and Canada for National Awards and distinctions.

We would also like to extend a special and heartfelt congratulations to Gia O. ’30 for her extraordinary individual achievement. Gia earned an impressive collection of honors across multiple genres: four Gold Keys (Personal Essay & Memoir, Poetry, Flash Fiction, and Journalism), three Silver Keys (two in Poetry and one in Screenplays & Scripts), and two Honorable Mentions (Personal Essay & Memoir and Novel). Her remarkable accomplishments across poetry, fiction, journalism, screenwriting, and memoir are a testament to her versatility, creativity, and dedication to her craft. We are especially proud of Gia for this outstanding achievement.

Congratulations to all of our talented students on this remarkable accomplishment. We are proud to celebrate their creativity, dedication, and the powerful stories and ideas they bring to life through their work.
