Congratulations to Veronica M. ’27 and Mira G. ’27, who were named semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program on September 9.

The two BC seniors are among more than 16,000 semifinalists nationwide, selected from over 1.2 million juniors who took the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Semifinalists represent less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors and include the highest-scoring entrants in each state.

More than 15,000 semifinalists nationwide are expected to reach finalist standing, with notifications going out in February. National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced between April and July, competing for a share of nearly $24 million in scholarships.
