BC Celebrates Middle School in Closing Ceremonies

This week, the community came together for the annual Closing Ceremony, a tradition that brings the full Middle School together one last time to reflect on the year, honor student growth, and look ahead to what comes next.

Head of School Dr. Lisa Yvette Waller and Middle School Director Paul McElfresh delivered heartfelt remarks and reflections. Representing their respective grades, Niko L. '33, Dhil S. '32, Anton M.-D. '31, and Meera O. '30 each took the stage to share their reflections on the year, speaking with insight, humor, and pride.

Musical performances wove throughout the program, with the 8th Grade Band, Orchestra, and Choir each taking their turn to close out the year in style.

The Moving Up portion of the ceremony brought Grade Deans Carolina Diaz, David Chodakewitz, Shennel Hunte, Senait Debesu, and Jason Dorn to the podium as each offered tributes to their classes, honoring the growth, resilience, and character their students brought to the year, before symbolically sending them on to the next chapter of their BC journey.

Congratulations to all Middle School students on a fantastic year. And a special cheer for the Class of 2030.
