A Sight To Behold: The BC Art Show Returns

Every May, the BC’s Lincoln Place hallways fill with paintings and photographs. The classrooms become galleries. The stairwells turn into exhibition spaces. And for one afternoon, the Berkeley Carroll Campus transforms into one of Park Slope’s most vibrant art destinations.

The 2026 BC All School Art Show took place on Saturday, May 16, welcoming hundreds of students, families, educators, and friends through the doors for the school's annual celebration of student creativity. The show offered a sweeping look at what it means to grow up making art at Berkeley Carroll, displaying work from the youngest preschool painters through seasoned senior sculptors.

Spread across four floors, the exhibition brought together work from the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools in an array of mediums: drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, textiles, photography, fashion design, animation, and video. Walking the building from floor to floor offered a unique opportunity to watch an artistic voice develop in real time, from the bold, joyful mark-making of early childhood through the increasingly refined and personal work of high school upperclassmen.

Among the highlights were pieces by students recognized in this year's Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, a nationally prestigious competition in which Berkeley Carroll has ranked among New York City's top 10 schools. Their work anchored the exhibition as a reminder of the exceptional talent nurtured within BC's Arts Program.

"I expected our visit would be short, but we have been here two hours! My daughter doesn't want to leave!" - BC Parent

The show also reflected BC's commitment to making art an active, communal experience. Live ceramics demonstrations led by students gave visitors a window into the creative process. Screening rooms showcased student films. Dedicated art-making stations invited the youngest attendees to pick up a pencil and sketch a live model. And a scavenger hunt added a touch of festivity that made the afternoon feel as much like a celebration as an exhibition.

"I missed the art show last year, so this is our first time. I will never miss it again!" - BC Parent

None of it happens without an enormous amount of behind-the-scenes effort. A sincere thank you to the students, teachers, staff, and maintenance and security teams whose work made the show possible, and to the many families who showed up, not just to attend, but to help bring this tradition to life. And a huge thank you to the Visual Arts faculty for putting on this awesome show! It takes a whole community to pull off something this ambitious, and year after year, our community delivers.
