This past summer, Upper School Arts teacher Bryan Berlin found himself shoulder-to-shoulder with the world’s best photographers at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with his camera trained on Messi, Mbappé, and Ronaldo, shooting for Wikipedia. The BC Speech & Debate Team opened its season with a trip to the Yale Invitational, bringing home strong results from a field of 23 students, including two Tournament of Champions qualifying points. 

Principles of Engineering students brought the Japanese art of chindogu, gloriously impractical inventions, to the Beta Lab, building working prototypes out of recycled materials. From a shoe that charges your phone to glasses with hidden cheat notes, take a look at what they came up with.

Ninth grader Aerin L-C. spent her summer working matches alongside the world’s best tennis players. Not as a spectator, but as part of the U.S. Open’s ball crew. The lessons she picked up on Arthur Ashe Stadium's biggest courts turn out to have everything to do with what makes her BC’s No. 1 Varsity singles player.

Grade 4 headed to the Museum of Chinese in America for their first field trip of the year, researching real figures from Chinese American history and presenting their findings to each other in small groups. Take a look at what they discovered.

Berkeley Carroll’s Co-Curricular and Affinity Group Fair returned this year, giving Upper School students a chance to explore clubs and affinity groups in person instead of scrolling through a spreadsheet.
