Berkeley Carroll’s mission statement ends with a commitment to prepare students for “a life of critical, ethical and global thinking.” The interconnectedness of the modern world, the explosive growth of technology and its impact on how we communicate, as well as the profound challenges the world now faces, call for an education that pushes beyond the boundaries of traditional subjects.
STEAM
Berkeley Carroll’s STEAM initiative is focused on offering students exciting opportunities to delve deeply into Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. But more importantly, STEAM is about pushing students and teachers to explore the intersections of these disciplines and how they can be used to solve real-world problems.

At Berkeley Carroll, learning is as much about who students become as what they know. Our Portrait of a Learner captures the mindsets, capacities, and values we nurture from PreK through Grade 12—guiding students as they discover their strengths, embrace their identities, and engage thoughtfully with the world. It reflects our commitment to developing curious and globally aware young people who learn with purpose and act with integrity.
BC helps to “build” students from LS, to MS, to US who are not only confident in their education but in their skin. They embrace difference and advocate for those who may not have the ability. I was grateful for that gift when all of my children went to college from BC—they found their feet very quickly.
