Brooklyn private independent school

Inspire, Innovate, Ignite Campaign

Berkeley Carroll is the school it is today because of thoughtful strategic planning over the past two decades and the philanthropic support of families, alumni, and friends of the school. Capital projects, acquisitions, and investments in Berkeley Carroll’s endowment, have all been made possible through the generosity of donors and ensure that a Berkeley Carroll education is always defined by excellence.

Inspire, Innovate, Ignite, Berkeley Carroll’s most recent capital campaign raised $10.5 million for the school. The campaign’s focus was to optimize the Middle and Upper School building at 181 Lincoln Place with improved and expanded spaces for learning, as well as an investment in the school’s endowment and Berkeley Carroll’s long-term fiscal strength.

The school’s Lincoln Place campus now has a new Beta Lab, sculpture studio, dedicated Middle and Upper School libraries, science labs, and classrooms. These spaces support the student-centered, integrated approach to learning that Berkeley Carroll is known for.

The campaign also included the Robert D. Vitalo Fund for Growth and Innovation in Teaching. This endowment fund honors Bob Vitalo, Berkeley Carroll’s Head of School from 2005-2019 and supports professional development opportunities for faculty. It strengthens Berkeley Carroll’s commitment to continually invest in talented teachers and their teaching.

The Inspire, Innovate, Ignite Campaign helped Berkeley Carroll make significant strategic investments that not only benefit the school’s students today, but will continue to have an impact in the future.
