Statement from Dr. Lisa Waller

Dear Members of the BC Community:

It is a tremendous honor and a great delight to have been named the next Head of The Berkeley Carroll School. My enthusiasm for joining your community has increased with each conversation that I have been privileged to have.

It is clear to me that part of what makes Berkeley Carroll so outstanding is the conviction that intellectual rigor and human kindness are complementary components of an excellent educational institution. The value placed on providing all students with an innovative and challenging program that promotes the critical, ethical, and global thinking so aptly described in the mission statement as “the greater endeavor” is quite compelling.

I believe that Berkeley Carroll will be a wonderful home within which to support children and adults who are inspired to learn and able to engage fully in exciting, challenging, and authentic discovery within and outside the classroom.
