The thing I miss most about Berkeley Carroll is the people. As a lifer I spent so many years getting close to so many students and teachers. The bond I had with friends both in the classroom and through sports teams is something that still sticks with me today. The teachers here really instilled in me a love of learning. I’ve never had more passionate teachers than the teachers I had at Berkeley Carroll. Their willingness to stay and work with students helped prepare me for college and beyond.

Berkeley Carroll gave me the opportunity to try out a number of sports. I played basketball, soccer, baseball, and swam, and my love playing baseball is something I was lucky enough to continue in college at Johns Hopkins as well. The other main passion I found at Berkeley Carroll was in Economics through my class with Mr. Swarthout. I was lucky enough to find a way to combine these two passions with my job today at the Raine Group. My job lets me work in finance but specifically for sports-related companies. Berkeley Carroll instilled in me a desire to follow my passions, and I’ve been lucky enough to find a way to follow the two I found at Berkeley Carroll.

The most important lesson I took away from Berkeley Carroll was how to interact with people from all walks of life. The ability to interact with people from different backgrounds and find common ground has been something that has helped me better understand people, and learning the foundations of that from Berkeley Carroll is something that will stick with me for the rest of my life.
