1st graders are using the BC Design Process (Think, Plan, Do, & Review) to expand their maker skills and help promote reading through projects that integrate STEAM and their library class. For their first design challenge of the year, students read “Lupe Lopez: Rock Star Rules!” and met Lupe, a budding rock star, in their library class. In STEAM class, they were challenged to design and make their own rock star glasses, just like the ones Lupe wears. Then, they transformed into reading rock stars with their custom-made glasses and had their picture taken to become part of the Library's Reading Stars bulletin board!
