MIDDLE SCHOOL ROBOTICS TEAM COMPETES IN THE BIG LEAGUES

SENIOR SPEAKERS
Congratulations to the latest Senior Speakers! (L-R Sophie A., Isabel B., Charlie W., and Hannah S.) Sophie shared how she came to embrace her small stature and how her choices to wear large eyeglasses and oversized clothing have come to help define her visual identity. Isabel told the story of how she first became a YouTube "star" as a 10-year-old when she was asked to be part of an "up-and-coming" singer's rap video.

Charlie, a BC lifer, admitted he's only failed one test in his entire time here: the puzzle test for Admission to PreK3 at the age of 2 1/2.  He joked how he honed his puzzle and scissor skills and happily was accepted the next year, and then shared some of the highlights of a successful BC career. Hannah S. told the audience she's a proud, lifelong procrastinator and highlighted her five stages of procrastination, from denial that the assignment even exists to bargaining with God and her teacher to get an extension.

UPPER SCHOOL STUDENTS STUDY "THE ODYSSEY"
Ninth and tenth graders had the chance to hear from author Daniel Mendelsohn as part of their study of Homer's "The Odyssey." Mendelsohn shared the story behind his book, "An Odyssey: A Memoir," which explores his journey with his own father as the two retraced Odysseus's famous voyage.
