BEYOND BC: MICHAEL EVE '17/TUFTS '21 As part of our "Beyond BC" Young Alumni showcase, this month we're catching up with Michael Eve '17, a senior at Tufts University studying Computer Science!
In addition to his academic pursuits, Michael is also busy in the athletics community and volunteering to support younger students on campus, and he credits Upper School Computer Science Teacher Jason Gaines for showing him "what can be possible in terms of making your different passions –like music, engineering, and computer science for me – come to life in different ways.

UPPER SCHOOL DISCUSSES ANTI-ASIAN RACISM IN THE UNITED STATES The Upper School welcomed social entrepreneur and inclusion innovator Aerica Shimizu Banks who led a virtual discussion about the anti-Asian racism and violence that have occurred around the country in recent months. Ms. Banks spoke about what it means to be Asian in America right now, a history of Asian-American racism, dispelled many Asian and Asian-American myths, and answered student questions about how they can make a difference. Charlotte shared some of the funniest moments in her life that have resulted from her habit for clumsiness including an encounter with a very angry cow.
Janey said like most teenagers she has given a lot of thought to her future, and she said her beloved aunt has been a role model for who she wants to become when she grows up.
