AAPI Presents Siyan Wong (PA Event)
For specific information about this BC Parent Association event, please contact email@example.com.
This talk is open to the entire BC community.
In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, AAPI invites the entire Berkeley Carroll community to an evening with Siyan Wong.
Siyan Wong is a fine artist and worker's rights attorney who has shown her paintings at the Equity Gallery of New York Artist Equity Association, New York Arts Center, and has spoken about her art at the Museum of Chinese in the Americas (MOCA) and other venues. Siyan will join the BC community and present some of her work, depicting the lives of many Chinese Americans in the New York City area. As a workers' rights lawyer, her contact with everyday working people informs her empathy and artistic vision. Siyan will be presenting her work depicting the experiences of garment factory workers, can collectors, homeless people, and portraits of emerging Asian Americans.
