"Parenting Your Teen" Talk for Parents of 8th-12th Graders
-
181 Lincoln Place

Dear Parents of 8th - 12th Graders:

We often hear that parents would like advice and information about parenting their teens, who are often striving for increased autonomy, but still want and need parental guidance.

On Tuesday, April 9th at 7 PM at Sterling Place we will host Dr. Sarper Taskiran, a child and adolescent psychiatrist from the Child Mind Institute.

Dr. Taskiran will speak about the adolescent brain -- its biological propensity for sensation-seeking, risk taking and impulsivity; its learning power and creativity; and the effects of substance use -- and about how parents can help their children navigate times of transition (e.g. from 8th to 9th grade and 12th to college, etc).

Event: Parenting Your Teen: Brain Development, Risk-taking, and Transitions
Date: Tues., April 9
Time: 7pm- 8pm
Where: 181 Lincoln Place

Dr. Taskiran's talk will run about 45 minutes and be followed by a Q&A session.

Best,
