BOOK DRIVE: Bring or Buy a Book to Donate

Buy a children’s book at the Book Fair, or bring new and gently used children’s books, to benefit readers in our local community through GO Project and Brooklyn Book Bodega. Look for a special GO Project section at the fair featuring titles selected by their team to support the students they serve. Any other newly purchased books, as well as gently used books brought from home, may be donated to benefit the work of Brooklyn Book Bodega.

We will accept gently used and new books for ages 0-18 including foreign language, dual language and nonfiction books. Please no religious books, textbooks, activity books, encyclopedias, broken books, or books with missing pages. Please do not send any books that you would not want in your own home or are not for ages 0-18. For example, do not give us well loved books: torn books, books with scribbles, or adult books.

GO Project is a not-for-profit organization that helps New York City public school students thrive in the earliest stages of their education through year-round academic, social-emotional, and family support.

Brooklyn Book Bodega increases the number of 100+ book homes in NYC. Despite the resources and wealth in New York City—parts of our own community are classified as book deserts, areas with very few books available for sale or lending.

Thank you to the BCPA Side-by-Side Committee for helping to organize this effort!
