The Berkeley Carroll School has an all-inclusive tuition that covers almost all of the costs associated with educating a student.

Our tuition, unlike many other Brooklyn and Manhattan private schools, includes:

Payment Plans & Deposit Details

A nonrefundable deposit of 15% of Net Tuition is due with the contract in order to reserve a place for the next academic year.

Payment Plan Options

1 Installment -- with the entire tuition (less the deposit already paid) due on July 15.
3 installments -- with payments due on July 15, September 15, and December 15.
10 installments -- with payments due between July 15 and April 15 of the next year.

Financial Aid

As part of our commitment to fostering a diverse inclusive community, Berkeley Carroll provides need-based financial assistance to students in PreK 4 through Grade 12.For the 2025-26 academic year, Berkeley Carroll awarded over 10.9 million in aid to 24% of the student body, with an average award of $47,750 per student.

Financial Aid Process

Decisions are made by the Financial Aid Committee based on demonstrated need and the availability of funds. The Financial Aid Committee keeps all financial information confidential and makes awards regardless of race, color, sex, religion, creed, gender expression, national origin, ethnic group, or disability.

The amount of aid given to families ranges from partial to almost full tuition assistance, and families from a wide range of income levels have qualified based on individual family circumstances.

How To Apply for Financial Aid

Check the financial aid box on your admissions application.

Submit the online Clarity application.

Berkeley Carroll School has chosen Clarity as our financial aid application provider. Our school uses a combined analysis of the Clarity financial aid application, the current year’s federal income tax return, and supporting documentation to determine financial need. Every application for financial assistance is given individual attention and handled with confidentiality.

Berkeley Carroll requires all parents, including custodial and non-custodial parents, to submit an application.

The Clarity Family Application Guide provides step-by-step instruction on how to complete the application. All required documents must be uploaded or mailed directly to Clarity. For help uploading documents or sending documents to Clarity, email support@clarityapp.com or call (206) 210-3752. Only completed application with all required documentation will be considered.

About Clarity

Clarity offers a streamlined and user-friendly financial aid application process that can take as few as twenty minutes to complete. It is mobile-friendly, so you can complete your application on your phone or tablet! Furthermore, your 1040 and W2 documents from 2024 will be automatically transferred from the IRS when you complete the verification step, so you will no longer need to upload those documents manually. These are just a few ways in which Clarity enhances the Berkeley Carroll application process.

Provide all documents directly to Clarity.

Re-apply yearly as needed.

Families must apply for aid each year as renewal is not automatic or guaranteed. Every year there is more demand for aid than funds available, so it’s important for all families, both new and returning, to meet submission deadlines.

Generally, if a family demonstrates a consistent financial situation from year to year the school’s support will remain consistent as well. Due to the individual consideration of each application, families receiving financial aid are expected to keep their aid package details confidential.
