Bus Service

Berkeley Carroll offers bus transportation to provide families with a dependable and convenient way to travel to and from campus. Our bus program is designed to support the needs of students across multiple neighborhoods, while maintaining a safe, respectful, and community-centered experience for riders.

Whether you’re new to the area or exploring transportation options for your Lion, we hope this page gives you everything you need to understand how the bus service works and how to join.

Our bus service reflects the community care and thoughtful planning that define Berkeley Carroll — helping students arrive on campus safely, connected, and ready for a day of learning and growth.

In order to meet the increased demand for service, all buses will make designated joint stops; door-to-door service is not provided. A bus registration form is sent to returning and new students each June. There is an annual non-refundable $900 registration fee charged at that time. Bus routes are sent out at the end of August.

Expanded Service

Since its inception in 2013, our bus service has served more families from more neighborhoods every year. Our service is provided through ARJ, a private transportation company based in Brooklyn. At present, we offer nine bus routes for our Lower School students, which serve many neighborhoods in Brooklyn, and eleven routes for our Middle and Upper School students, which serve neighborhoods in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. We do not currently offer service in Staten Island, the Bronx or New Jersey.

We are excited about the growth and convenience this bus service provides our community. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Transportation Coordinator Sharifah Taylor via email at transportation@berkeleycarroll.org.

Transportation eligibility is determined on the basis of the student's grade level and walking distance between the student's residence and school campus based on division.
