Weekly Athletic Update – Upper School and Middle School (1/31/20)

We come down to the final week of the regular season for Upper School Teams and the penultimate week of winter athletics for Middle School teams. Our thoughts have simultaneously turned to Fall season of 2020-2021. Please read the note about Preseason dates and protocols carefully.

Boys Varsity Basketball: The team split two league games this week with a loss to SIA and a win against Saint Ann's to drop to 3rd place in the ACIS. Three more league games determine if the team will climb to 2nd, stay in 3rd or fall all the way to 5th place. Stay tuned for playoff updates.

Boys JV Basketball: The team continued to dominate with blow out wins over SIA and St. Ann's to clinch the ACIS Regular Season Championship. The Boys will be the #1 seed for the upcoming ACIS playoffs and play all their games at home.

Girls Varsity Basketball: The team lost close games to Chapin and Grace Church, dropping to 3rd place in the ACIS. A big game Saturday against Friends Seminary will determine if they have a home game in the playoffs.

Girls JV Basketball: The team dropped their only game of the week against Chapin and has matches with Nightingale and Marymount next week to determine their playoff seeding.

7/8 Boys Basketball: The team beat St. Luke's on the road in their first game of the week and travel to SIA for a second match up Friday.

7/8 Girls Basketball: A close loss to Spence was the only game of the week for the Girls. They will participate in the Grace Church Invitational next week.

Varsity Boys and Girls Swimming: Both the Boys and Girls swam against Columbia Prep this week, winning the races they competed in but losing on points to a larger squad.

Middle School Swimming: 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders all got a chance to swim against Brooklyn Friends School this week. The Middle School meets are not scored but tons of progress was made according to the coaches and everyone had a lot of fun.
