Congratulations to Brianna Johnson '20, recipient of this year's prestigious Wesleyan University Hamilton Prize for Creativity which comes with a four-year, full tuition scholarship to attend Wesleyan.
Brianna was selected from a pool of over 400 applicants and honored for her mixtape/album, "Tell 'Em The Truth." This year's Hamilton Prize was awarded by an all-star committee of Wesleyan alumni, including singer-songwriter Santigold, and actors Beanie Feldstein and Bradley Whitford, who selected Brianna's work for best reflecting the originality, artistry, and dynamism of the award-winning Broadway musical "Hamilton," created by Wesleyan alum Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Mr. Miranda personally celebrated Brianna's work, saying he was struck "by the honesty, perspective, and structure already present in what she's creating."
