Upper School Admissions

Click the Apply Now link to proceed to the Berkeley Carroll application or schedule an open house or tour. Event Registration generally begins 30-35 days before the event.

*You do not need to submit an application to attend an open house or tour.

Parents/Guardians must complete the Preliminary portion of the Online Application for Upper School Admission (available September 3, 2024, at 11:00 am) and submit a $100 non-refundable application fee (The Parent/Guardian statement portion of the application must be completed before the applicant’s interview date.).

We encourage you to apply as early as possible. Berkeley Carroll provides automatic application fee waivers for students from the following programs: 360 Academic and Sports Academy, A Better Chance, Boys Club, Breakthrough New York, De La Salle Academy, George Jackson Academy, Oliver Scholars, Prep for Prep, and TEAK. If you require a fee waiver or have any questions regarding fee waivers, please contact our office at msusadmissions@berkeleycarroll.org.

We share a Common Parent/Guardian Statement form with other ISAAGNY schools. 

Please Note: Submission of the parent statement is required before an interview can be scheduled.

We share the ISAAGNY Common US Applicant Essay Form and Common Student Interests and Activities Form with other schools. 

*We strongly recommend that applicants complete these forms before attending the interview.

Indicate on the application if you intend to apply for Financial Aid. Berkeley Carroll uses the services of Clarity to process all need-based financial aid applications. For more information on this process, please visit our Financial Aid page under the Admissions tab.

As part of our application process, we require all applicants invited to interview to complete a writing exercise developed by Berkeley Carroll's US English department.

We utilize a timed Online Writing Exercise hosted by the Kira Talent platform to gain deeper insights into applicants' writing abilities. This assessment provides a valuable opportunity for applicants to showcase their writing skills and ability to communicate effectively. We’re eager to see your creativity, critical thinking, and command of language.

Please Note: If the applicant qualifies for extended time, contact us at msusadmissions@berkeleycarroll.org. We will provide you with the next steps and send you a link to the appropriate writing exercise.

*Deadline: December 10^th

Submit the Transcript and Grades Release Form for the 2024-2025 school year to the office of your applicant's current school. Please note that the request for an official school transcript should not be submitted until after the first marking period, as we require grades from the current year. If the applicant’s school does not issue a report card before January 9, 2025, please contact the Berkeley Carroll Admissions Office with the expected date of the first marking period report card. If the ERB CTP (Educational Records Bureau Comprehensive Testing Program) is administered at the applicant’s school, please include the scores as part of your transcript. Be sure to request these scores from the applicant’s current school. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact our admissions team.
