Lower School Admissions

THE STEPS FOR APPLYING FOR BC 3s ARE AS FOLLOWS:

• At least one parent or guardian of an applicant must attend an Open House. If you attended an Open House last year or this spring, this requirement is waived.
• A parent or guardian must fill out an online application. The core application (the application with the parent/guardian statement) is due by December 2, though we would prefer to receive it earlier. Applications that have been thoughtfully completed help us to get the most accurate picture of a child and family and we encourage you to take some time to answer the questions on the parent or guardian statement section of the core application, short and concise.
• If your child is in a school or daycare program, please have their teacher fill out the ISAAGNY Teacher Recommendation Form and return it directly to us by January 9. (The form can be found in the Supplemental Forms section of the application.)
• Once we have a clear idea of siblings, children of alumni, and faculty children who will be attending in the coming year, we may find that we have available spaces. If so, we may contact a family to set up a Parent or Guardian Interview and Applicant Playgroup. At that time, families will be charged a registration fee for the Playgroup appointment that is equivalent to the application fee of $100.

Please note, we offer a choice of three schedules for BC 3s:

• Full Day: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.
• Half Day: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

• *Flexi-3: three days of your choice (8:30 a.m. - 2:50 p.m. and two days of your choice (8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.). Your selection will be for the duration of the year, until you increase or add on to your child’s schedule.
  
  *Families may increase a child’s schedule at any point during the year, after consulting with their teachers. The increase will result in an additional prorated charge.

THE STEPS FOR APPLYING FOR PREK 4 ARE AS FOLLOWS:

• At least one parent or guardian of an applicant must attend an Open House. If you attended an Open House last year or this spring, this requirement is waived.
   
• A parent or guardian must fill out an online application. The core application (the application with the parent/guardian statement) is due by December 2, though we would prefer to receive it earlier. Applications that have been thoughtfully completed help us to get the most accurate picture of a child and family and we encourage you to take some time to answer the questions on the parent or guardian statement section of the core application, short and concise.
   
• If your child is in a school or daycare program, please have their teacher fill out the ISAAGNY Teacher Recommendation Form and return it directly to us by Thursday, January 9. (The form can be found in the Supplemental Forms section of the application.)
   
• After submitting the core application, parents/guardians will be able to schedule a Parent or Guardian Interview and an Applicant Playgroup, our version of the interview for children entering PreK 4. Please note that we would prefer that the Parent or Guardian Interview take place after at least one parent/guardian has attended an Open House.
   
• Berkeley Carroll offers financial aid for students in PreK 4 through Grade 12. Families apply for aid at the same time that they apply for admission. For information on this process, please visit the Financial Aid page of our website, under the Admissions tab.

• A parent or guardian must fill out an online application. The core application is due by November 15, though we would prefer to receive it earlier. Applications that have been thoughtfully completed help us to get the most accurate picture of a child and family and we encourage you to take some time to answer the questions on the parent statement section of the core application.
   
• After submitting the core application (the application with the parent/guardian statement), we will contact you to arrange a parent or guardian interview and child's visit. Interviews and children's visits are conducted throughout the fall and into January.
   
• Please have your scholar’s current teacher fill out the ISAAGNY Teacher Recommendation Form and return it directly to us by Thursday, January 9. (The form can be found in the Supplemental Forms section of the application.)
   
• Berkeley Carroll offers financial aid for students in pre-K 4 through Grade 12. Families apply for aid at the same time that they apply for admission. For information on this process, please visit the Financial Aid page of our website, under the Admissions tab.
   
• Berkeley Carroll does not require, nor will it accept, the ISEE: Independent School Entrance Exam for Kindergarten applicants.

• A parent or guardian must fill out an online application. The core application (the application with the parent/guardian statement)  is due by November 15, though we would prefer to receive it earlier. Required supplemental forms include: a Transcript and Grade Release and the ISAAGNY Teacher Recommendation Form, which we would prefer to receive by December 2. Applications that have been thoughtfully completed help us to get the most accurate picture of a child and family and we encourage you to take some time to answer the questions on the parent or guardian statement section of the core application.

• Please have your scholar’s current teacher fill out the ISAAGNY Teacher Recommendation Form and return it directly to us by Thursday, January 9 (though we would prefer to receive it by December 2. The form can be found in the Supplemental Forms section of the application.)

• Because of limited availability, we are not able to offer Parent/Guardian and Child Interviews to all candidates. We recommend that the application be complete (including transcripts/grades and the teacher evaluation) by December 2 at the latest, so that we can adequately assess your scholar should a spot open up and we are able to invite candidates for interviews.

• At least one parent or guardian of an applicant must attend an Open House. If you attended an Open House last year or this spring, this requirement is waived.

• A parent or guardian must fill out an online application. The core application (application and parent/guardian statement) is due by November 15, though we would prefer to receive it earlier. Required supplemental forms include a Transcript and Grade Release and a ISAAGNY Teacher Recommendation Form, which we would prefer to receive by December 2. Applications that have been thoughtfully completed help us to get the most accurate picture of a child and family and we encourage you to take some time to answer the questions on the parent/guardian statement section of the core application.

• Because of limited availability, we are not able to offer Parent/Guardian Interviews or Applicant Visits to all candidates. We recommend that the application be complete (including transcripts/grades and the teacher evaluation) by November 15, at the latest, so that we can adequately assess the scholar should a spot open up and we are able to invite candidates for half day visits.

• Please have your scholar’s current teacher fill out the ISAAGNY Teacher Recommendation Form and return it directly to us by Thursday, January 9 (though we would prefer to receive it by December 2. The form can be found in the Supplemental Forms section of the application.)

• The ISEE is optional for candidates applying to Grades 2-4 this year. You will not be penalized for not taking the exam. However, if you do elect to take the ISEE, please visit erblearn.org to register (preferably the assessment should take place before December 1).
