BC Musicians Earn Recognition In Prestigious Performances

This Fall, 16 Middle and Upper School students received recognition outside the walls of Berkeley Carroll for their musical achievements.

Three BC 8th graders were selected to be a part of Jazz at Lincoln Center's prestigious Brooklyn Middle School Jazz Academy. Chloe P., Truth T. and Mikaela O. will attend Saturday rehearsals and classes to prepare for a performance at Lincoln Center at the end of the year.

In addition, 13 BC students were nominated and selected to perform in the Independent School Music Association Honor Band. The group, which included 43 students total from eight independent schools, rehearsed all weekend before giving a concert at BC on Sunday, October 29 conducted by the prolific composer and conductor Dr. Jack Stamp. Congratulations to the following BC students who were selected to perform:

  • Flute: Gabriella W. '18, Coco D. '20, and Sarah C. '20
  • Clarinet: Nick B. '19, Will M. '18, and Lila B. '21
  • Bass clarinet: Matthew P. '20
  • Tenor sax: Mokhtar R. '18
  • French horn: Eve B. '19
  • Trumpet: Lukas H. '19, Oliver S. '21, and Truth T. '22
  • Trombone: Jude M. '19
