For the third year in a row, BC Arts Director Peter Holsberg has been named a quarterfinalist for the GRAMMY Music Educator Award. Dr. Holsberg is the only quarterfinalist from Brooklyn (and one of only four in NYC). He was selected from thousands of teachers from around the country who were nominated this year.
Presented by the Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Museum, the GRAMMY Music Educator Award recognizes "current educators from kindergarten through college who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education and who demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools." A $10,000 honorarium is awarded to the winner, who will be invited to attend the 2018 GRAMMY Awards in New York, in addition to a matching grant for their school.
