Congratulations to the Class of 2023

Congratulations to the Class of 2023 who graduated from Berkeley Carroll in our 136th Commencement ceremony at the Theater at City Tech in Downtown Brooklyn! We will truly miss you all and are so excited for you as you take on your next adventure, wherever it may take you. 

Class co-executive council Presidents Sydney H. ‘23 and Noah G. ‘23  greeted the audience of friends, family, and faculty. The audience also heard remarks from Head of School Dr. Lisa Yvette Waller, Class Speaker Laurence N. ‘23, Upper School Faculty Commencement Speaker Dr. Jacob Hughes, and Dean of the Class of 2023, Ryan Henneberry. 

The commencement address was delivered by Christina Swarns, the Executive Director of the Innocence Project, which works to free the innocent, prevent wrongful convictions, and create fair, compassionate and equitable systems of justice for everyone. To date, it has helped to free or exonerate more than 240 people who, collectively, spent more than 3,600 years behind bars and its efforts have led to the passage of more than 200 transformative state laws and federal reforms.
