As we near graduation, it is with great pride that we celebrate the many achievements of Berkeley Carroll’s Class of 2024. The number of writing and arts awards they earned, debates won and opinions argued, points and goals scored, artistic projects performed and produced, and research papers written and presented is impressive. Each student has left their mark.
We are also pleased to celebrate the outstanding decisions made by both our seniors and their colleges and universities in this year's college admissions process. Even in this unprecedented admission cycle, 81% of our 79 seniors were offered admission to one of their top two choices. In fact, nearly two-thirds of our seniors already had one or more offers of admission by mid-December having applied early action or decision. We are so proud of their hard work, self-knowledge, and growth.
It is worth noting how diverse the college list is. Our students choose colleges and universities that "fit" them, institutions where they are likely to have room to grow and thrive, academically and personally. Eighty percent of our students will attend college outside New York State. Two students will attend women’s colleges and five will attend universities outside the United States. While most will pursue the liberal arts and sciences, several will enroll in specialized programs in art, theatre, film, engineering, business, and music.
Berkeley Carroll students continue to stand out for their academic success, intellectual voracity, wide-ranging achievements, and personal authenticity. We will miss their presence in our classrooms and on campus.
