BC Talks: Neurodiversity

The Upper School held their “BC Talks: Neurodiversity, Mental Health, and Disability Justice”. This was this year’s first installment of an annual series that provides students with opportunities to learn about topics and issues relating to social justice, and encourage thoughtful discussion.

For this event, the Upper School welcomed disability rights activists Lauren Melissa Ellzey and Lydia X.Z. Brown to speak about disability justice and cultivating acceptance for neurodivergence. After their remarks, the speakers held Q&A sessions for students and faculty to ask questions and consider ways to bring disability justice in their everyday lives.
