Berkeley Carroll is a Pre-K through grade 12 college preparatory school of close to 1000 students located in the Park Slope section of New York City. Berkeley Carroll is looking for a full time Upper School Spanish teacher for the 2023-2024 academic year. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish is required, as is experience teaching Spanish language and literature at the secondary or collegiate level. Experience teaching high school students and an advanced degree are preferred.
Teaching duties will include both introductory and advanced courses. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching language and will be committed to fostering a rigorous, Spanish-only learning environment in the classroom. They will have experience and interest in designing curriculum, and will look forward to taking an active role in our travel program, including international travel with students.
Candidates should be prepared to work with a team of committed and professional language teachers and should expect to be both flexible and collaborative in their planning, teaching, and assessing.
Strong candidates will also have an interest in being active members of our school community, including involvement in student life as a grade advisor, leader of a student club, advisor to a publication, or the coach of a team.

Salary and benefits are highly competitive and will be offered commensurate with experience and credentials. The salary range for this position is $80k - $105k. This full-time position begins in August 2023.
