Berkeley Carroll is a Pre-K through grade 12 college preparatory school of close to 1000 students located in the Park Slope section of New York City. Berkeley Carroll is looking for a full time Biology coordinator and teacher for the 2023-2024 academic year. This is a full time teaching position with the added responsibility of leading the 9th grade biology team and revising and developing our 9th grade science curriculum with a view towards interdisciplinary, real-world applications and instilling in our students an ability to transfer concepts to future science courses. In addition to teaching and coordinating the 9th grade biology course, the position might include teaching advanced biology courses.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about content and teaching; will have experience leading teachers and developing curriculum; and will be familiar with best practices around teaching an engaging, rigorous course for the whole 9th grade.
Candidates should be excited about collaborating closely with the teaching team, department, and the Chair.
Strong candidates will also have an interest in being active members of our school community, including involvement in student life as a grade advisor, leader of a student club, advisor to a publication, and/or the coach of a team.

Salary and benefits are highly competitive and will be offered commensurate with experience and credentials. The salary range for this position is $90-110k. This full-time position begins in August 2023.
