The Berkeley Carroll School is seeking a full-time mental health professional (LCSW, MSW, Mental Health Counseling Masters, Psy. D. or Ph.D.), to join the Lower and Middle School student support team. This position involves: providing short-term counseling for students; working closely with the other members of the team, Director of Learning Strategies, LS/MS Division Directors and Deans, and Director of the Office of Equity and Inclusion; communicating with teachers, parents/guardians and outside support providers. The ability to connect effectively with adults and students representing a diversity of perspectives and experiences is paramount. The ideal candidate will have a background in targeted, short-term counseling of elementary aged and adolescent students (such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy skills), as well as in crisis intervention when a student is in distress.
