Berkeley Carroll is a Pre-K through grade 12 college preparatory school of approximately 1000 students located in the Park Slope section of New York City. The Berkeley Carroll School seeks a part-time (25 hours/week) Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Movement for Lower School division for the 2023-24 school year. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supporting Dance and Physical Education instruction by providing supervision under the direction of the teacher that ensures the safety and engagement of all children in these physically active classes.
TAs may be responsible for additional duties such as assisting with arrival and dismissal, lunch coverage, and child care on Professional Development and Parent Conference days. TAs must communicate with students in a developmentally appropriate way and be comfortable collaborating with faculty to understand the unique needs of each grade level and class.
Applicants should have, or be in the process of attaining, a college degree, as well as have experience in a school or camp setting working with school-aged children in a capacity that includes physical movement.

The hourly wage range for this part-time non-exempt position is $30.00 an hour.
