The Berkeley Carroll School seeks nominations and applications for the position of Lower School Director to begin July 2023. The preferred candidate will be an
experienced educational leader with an appetite for collaborative decision-making, diligent communication, and a passionate student-centered perspective.
Berkeley Carroll is a vibrant, independent, coeducational day school serving almost 1,000 students in Prekindergarten through 12 th grade. Centrally located in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn, Berkeley Carroll brings together students from 60 New York City zip codes as well as New Jersey. Throughout the School’s evolution from the original Berkeley Institute, founded in the late 19 th century, to its present- day iteration, Berkeley Carroll has been committed to providing a rigorous college preparatory program and a hands-on approach to

The Lower School Director will report to Head of School Dr. Lisa Waller and be responsible for developing, promoting, and implementing the educational vision of the Lower School as well as managing its day-to-day operations. The successful candidate will bring direct and successful experience in education leadership within a PreK-Elementary environment, as well as a passion for engaging stakeholders in discussion and strategies to cultivate a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment. A bachelor’s degree and MS/MA in a related field is required, with a preference for Elementary Education or Educational Leadership.
The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience; the expected range is $175,000 - $210,000. This role also offers a comprehensive benefits package.
