Learning Specialist, Middle and Upper School

Job Description

The Berkeley Carroll School is seeking a full-time learning specialist to join our Middle/Upper School student support team for the 2023-2024 school year. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience working as a learning specialist in a rigorous academic environment. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to culturally responsive student support and must have a nuanced understanding of learner variability, neurodiversity, and executive functioning. 

Familiarity with the process of applying for standardized testing accommodations (ACT/SAT) is a plus, but training will be provided if needed; an advanced degree in special education, psychology, or a related discipline is required. 

The successful candidate will:

  • help students in grades 5-12 develop effective techniques for planning/prioritizing, organizing materials, preparing for assessments, and sustaining attention.
  • assist with accommodations management (for school-based assessments and standardized tests, e.g. ACT/SAT).

Salary and benefits are highly competitive and will be offered commensurate with experience and credentials. The salary range for this position is $70K-$90K.
