Dennis Masel attended the University of Colorado at Boulder on a Naval scholarship and graduated with a degree in English Literature and Film. Having attained the rank of Lieutenant he left the Navy and embarked on a career in advertising and entertainment. In 2003 he started Creative Circle New York and as Chief Operating Officer proved instrumental in growing the company from a start up to 35 offices and over 300 employees across the United States and Canada.
Dennis is currently Founder/Head of Film for Storm City Films, an Independent Film production company. Their films have premiered at Toronto and San Sebastian and feature directors and writers from the Sundance Lab. The mission is to celebrate and support emerging voices.
He has judged numerous awards shows, is a guest lecturer at the Art Institute of Chicago and has sat on the Board of Trustees for the American Repertory Theater, is an active member of the Advisory Council for Transportation Alternatives, The Berkeley Carroll School and Hayground School. In 2015 Dennis and his wife formed the Jeanne and Dennis Masel Foundation which focuses on Elderly Care, Arts Education, Bicycle Advocacy and the Arts.
In his free time you’ll find him cycling, collecting vinyl or making art with his daughter Sadie.
