Please Note: Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19, we have decided to cancel all of our in-person programming for the summer of 2020. If you are interested in learning about any of our virtual offerings, please contact us at summer@berkeleycarroll.org
The Music Academy at Berkeley Carroll is designed for students entering grades 5-12 who are looking for an intensive and enjoyable music program during their summer vacation. Working under the guidance of Berkeley Carroll music faculty, participants will work on ear training, music theory, music technology, improvisation, group and solo performance skills. The camp will be divided into two divisions: wind & brass instruments and string instruments. While each of these divisions will enjoy individual training and instruction, they will also collaborate on performances throughout the week of the camp.
Each day will consist of classes and ensembles including small group jam sessions, music theory lessons, big band practice and more. Students will be divided into ensembles based on their instrument and level of experience. The camp will culminate in a showcase performance for family and friends. The camp is open to students of various levels, but participants should have at least one full year of experience with his/her instrument.
