Congratulations to the Class of 2013!

The 53 members of the Class of 2013 were lauded, feted, advised, toasted, hugged, and bid tearfully goodbye. "We've always been supportive of each other," class president Amalya Schwartz '13 told her classmates. No doubt this support has given these students the wherewithal to take risks, but the notion of blind risk taking was tempered by David Rohde, Pulitzer Prize winner and this year's commencement speaker. Mr. Rohde, who spent 7 months as a hostage of the Taliban, urged the class to "think before making major decisions."

Additional wise words were delivered by class speaker August Rosenthal '13 who acknowledged that, although "change is scary," Berkeley Carroll will always feel like home because of that fact that it is always changing.

Congratulations, Class of 2013, and as Mr. Rohde reminded you: think critically.

    Baseball News -- Spring Training

Jacob udewitz and Ian Miller combined to pitch the BC Lions, to a 6-0 victory over The Morristown Beard School. Udewitz went 5 innings and Miller the final 2 innings, allowing only two runners to reach second base. The Lions stole 6 bases, drew 6 walks, and had only 4 hits. However, an RBI hit by Yanai Feldman (2rbi), a double steal and an RBI groundout, showed the lions to be resourceful offensively. Richard Palacios, Jr. was stellar, both offensively (bunt single, base on balls), and defensively (6 assists). It was a successful recipe, and one that hopes to bring many victories our way.
