Amid much fanfare, third graders received their iPads on October 25, 2012. They will use their iPads to share ideas using Google Docs and, working collaboratively, will produce e-books, movies, and websites.

Prior to receiving the instruments, the third graders engaged in a group discussion concerning appropriate care and usage of iPads. Ultimately, they agreed to handle their iPads respectfully, listen to and follow instructions, and keep all liquids away from the machine (advice it might behoove some adults to remember).

Every Berkeley Carroll third, fifth, and ninth grader will receive an iPad this year as part of the school's growing technology plan. For more information on the iPad initiative, click here.
