Performing Arts
Through participation in the performing arts, students broaden their communication skills, expand their creative perspectives, increase self-discipline, develop critical and evaluative skills, take pride in their own accomplishments, and strengthen their sense of community by working with others to achieve common goals.
All students have the opportunity to participate in music, dance and theater classes and to perform in one or more of these disciplines. Students who show special interest or talent have many opportunities to work on independent projects designed to meet their aptitudes and needs. Interarts and interdisciplinary activities are commonly planned so that students may become aware of how the arts touch all aspects of human experience.
Major theatrical productions and concerts of music and dance are presented throughout the school year. Students in the Middle and Upper Schools may audition for these productions. Students interested in the technical aspects of theater are also encouraged to participate.

"Adventure in the Library" 4th Grade Play 2008
The 2008 4th grade play, Adventure in the Library, was a stunning success! Written by Vanessa Swanson and the actors, with music and lyrics by Carolyn Sloan, and technical direction and lighting by Jim Kent, it was truly a collaborative effort that relied on the talents of many, many people.
