Five BC students in the Middle and Upper schools have won national medals in the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, ranking in the top 1% of students nationwide!

Joanna B. '17 and Leah R. '17 won gold medals for their personal essays. Freda L. '22 and Catie W. '21 won gold medals for their short stories. Catie's piece also won a "best in grade" award. Gala P. A record-breaking 330,000 works of art and writing were submitted to the competition this year and less than 1% were recognized at the national level. National award winners have been invited to attend a ceremony at Carnegie Hall on June 8 and participate in showcase events at Parsons School of Design, The New School and Pratt Institute's Pratt Manhattan Gallery.
